The Salone del Mobile Milano fair, as it does every year, sets new directions in interior design and furniture-making, showcasing innovations and creative solutions that influence the global market. The 2024 edition was no exception, focusing on several key trends that reflect contemporary approaches to living and working, as well as a growing environmental awareness.

One of the prominent trends is sustainability and eco-design. Exhibitors are increasingly focusing on renewable materials, recycling, and environmentally friendly production methods. Furniture made from recycled plastic, FSC-certified wood, or biodegradable materials is gaining popularity, highlighting a growing concern for the planet.

Moreover, the fair also emphasized the importance of multifunctional design, which caters to the evolving needs of modern lifestyles. With more people working from home and living in smaller spaces, designs that offer flexibility and adaptability are becoming essential. These trends indicate a shift towards a more responsible and thoughtful approach to design, where aesthetics and functionality meet environmental consciousness.

At the trade fair, there was also a strong emphasis on personalization and modularity. In response to the growing demand for individualized living spaces, manufacturers are offering an increasing number of product customization options, from colors and finishes to modules that can be configured in various ways. This allows furniture to adapt to changing needs and room sizes. This approach not only enables customers to create unique interiors but also addresses the challenges associated with smaller living spaces, which require smart, multifunctional solutions.

 

 

 

 

The Salone del Mobile Milano fair is always a great opportunity to observe the latest trends in design and interior decoration. Klaudia Dawidowska, an experienced designer from Create Design, shared her insights from this year's edition, highlighting the dominant colors and materials that can inspire both professionals and amateur interior decorators.

According to Klaudia, this year the fair was dominated by various shades of green - from pistachio, olive, celadon, mint, to sage and sea green. These colors, presented in both monochromatic arrangements and in combination with other hues, created fresh and energizing spaces. Equally emphasized at the fair was terracotta in different shades - from light oranges, through peaches, to deep rusts.

Klaudia particularly noted the use of natural materials such as marble and travertine. Green marble kitchen countertops or sinks and lamps with blue and azure accents, combined with metallic touches of copper and gold, created luxurious yet cozy interiors. These elements are a perfect example of how nature can be blended with elegance and modernity. As every year, the Salone del Mobile Milano fair provided plenty of inspiration that can be used to create unique and stylish spaces.
